The RG Build

The Ibanez RG guitars have been built pretty much the same way for over 30 years now. Their thin “Wizard” shape necks and sharp and flat ‘s’ style body shape have gone through a few changes though they are ultimately the same as they were nearly 30 years ago. With this guitar you get a Wizard III 3 piece maple neck which is very thin and incredibly easy to play and a mahogany body that offers a lot more chunk than you would normally find on an RG. If your guitar needs to stay out of the way you need look no further than the RG series. They let your hands do the talking.

Top Notch Hardware

Ibanez use high quality hardware across the board so you are always getting a great value instrument. This one in particular has Ibanez’s own Edge Zero II tremolo system with ZPS3Fe that keeps the tremolo in its ideal position even if you lose a string mid song. This bridge can be found across the entire RG range so don’t worry you are not getting some cheap imitation tremolo this is the real deal.

The biggest change for this guitar though comes in the pickups. Gone are the old Infinity pickups and in are the new Quantum HSH pickup set. These pickups still keep the same clarity and cut the Infinity pickups were known for while increasing the quality of the sound overall. If you loved the sound before you will still love it now.
