Every analog input and output on the DM 2000 VCM (including its 24 microphone/line inputs) is built for performance, employing high-precision 24-bit AD/DA converters to give you an astounding 110dB of dynamic range. The Yamaha DM 2000 VCM gives you massive amounts of I/O (a 96-input, 22-bus mix capacity to be exact), so it’ll never leave you wishing for more. On top of that, each of these input channels includes a 4-band parametric EQ, gating, compression/limiting, and up to 453ms of delay. If that wasn’t enough, you also get eight group buses, 12 auxiliary buses, four stereo matrices, a host of inserts, and a main stereo bus.

The DM 2000 VCM was built with surround applications in mind — you can use group buses 1 through 6 as stereo surround buses, and a Bus to Stereo function allows for easy sub-mixing as well as downmixing of 5.1 or 3-1 surround to stereo. Highly configurable, all of the DM 2000 VCM’s inputs, outputs, insert patch points, direct outputs, and effect sends and returns can be easily patched and routed, thanks to its easy-to-read LCD display. And what’s best, you can conveniently save your patch settings as library data for fast and easy recall.

You also get six 31-band graphic EQs with switchable 6dB, 15dB, or 24dB ranges.

The Yamaha DM2000 VCM provides you with six mini-YGDAI expansion card slots, for up to 16 additional channels of digital I/O in AES/EBU, ADAT, or TASCAM format. You can also expand your system with sold-separately double-speed 96kHz (AES/EBU) digital I/O cards, 96kHz-compatible AD/DA cards, and a range of analog I/O cards.

You can use the DM2000 VCM’s Cascade connector to link two consoles together, giving you up to 192 input channels. With versatile MIDI control, USB and RS422 To Host connectors, an XLR-type SMPTE time-code input, a 9-pin D-Sub remote connector that supports P2 commands or remote HA control, and a 25-pin D-Sub control connector, the DM2000 VCM gives you the extensive control you need for any type of application.

Thanks to its Matrix Mixing and Bus to Stereo functions, downmixing 5.1 or 3-1 surround sources to stereo is child’s play with the DM2000 VCM.

The DM2000 VCM’s 3-1 output can also be connected via Dolby Surround or DTS stereo encoders to allow real-time comparison between an encoded and pre-encoded sound. With a panning joystick and surround-compatible effects, you can be confident that the DM2000 VCM will help you deliver premium surround projects time after time. On top of that, you also get fine control of your monitoring environment, thanks to the DM2000 VCM’s Speaker Control function.
